This may seem like a "pointless" question, but does anyone have any experience with points increase with deletion of late payments on closed accounts? If I don't get some points uppage soon, I am going to get very depressed. I have been working on this for three or four months now, and have deleted two derogatory accts, and with goodwill letters and PFB, have gotten three creditors to agree to delete negative tradelines of late payments. I am still in the low-mid 500s. I would just like to be in the 600s by the end of the year. They have not updated yet, and so I made copies of the letters I received from the three creditors to send to the CRAs to get them to update, but I feel like I am doing all this and the score isn't going up. I did get a new CC account (Household, sux as it may, it is a positive tradeline). I need some positive reinforcement. Got any for me?

Hang tough...the increases will soon come.

You get very small sometimes-negligible increases when you get deletions, while you still have other negatives on your report. Until you get your last negative item off you will probably only see those smaller jumps or increases. That is, unless your remaining negatives items are older, then you may see somewhat larger jumps as items get deleted.

That said, you will get score related results if you stay persistent and keep at it.

Believe me, we ALL start this process the same way, frustrated and anxious. But if you read the successful stories (especially lately) of recent homeowners with scores in the 700's after being in your shape only 1 or 2 years ago...you will keep your course steadfast and continue in the face of frustration.

Good Luck and keep at it.
