I just wanted to take a poll of which OCs generally accept PFDs. If you have already experienced this, please chime in and give the rest of us hope. Please state the OC, the balance, and the amount you offered. Thanks!

I'd like to hear some answers on this as well. Any experienced people that can help out us unexperienced ones?

PFDs are a case by case situation; it's difficult to say company ABC or XYZ do them. It often comes down to the person at the company you deal with. People are people, and come in all types, and have different moods from day to day.

The other element at play here is the changing atmosphere of credit reporting. The industry standards manual, the CDIA manual of procedures, states that PFDs should never be done.

So, short answer is TRY! You have to make a "business case" for each PFD you attempt, and present it as the most economical approach for the company to take. It is akin to pleading "Nolo" to a court case, and the removal is part of the settlement. However, you must somehow present that there is an element of "error" to the tradeline, to allow the data furnisher an "out" to delete.
