    Hi,

I'm going through my CC report disputing much of the fraud that I uncovered.
Yes I have a fraud alert on my CR's.

I successfully had ATT long distance collections stopped and they said they would fax me a release so I can argue with the CRA's..but the fax never arrived. I've spend 1/2 of the day trying to get someone to send me the promised release. (I don't have long distance on my house phone but I have 3 bills.)

NCO FINANCIAL SERVICES is handling this. The credit reporting division said to wait the 30-60 days but I don't see why I can't just get a release since my mortgage is time critical. Someone agreed and promsied the fax. NADA.

An account shows as charged off. I inquired about this last year and thought I successfully disputed it however it is still showing. CA says their anecdotal claims I acknowledged the debt last year and I was discussing a settlement.
As I recall they were the ones discussing a settlement and I said I wouldn't pay anything because it wasn't mine.

So I asked for a complete history of the account. They said the don't have it and that they bought the account from First Western National Bank. But CA added that First Western wouldn't have the history either because they bought all accounts from them.

So I said "there has to be a way for me to verify that this account is mine".
She said "payments were made on it way back in 2000. You can request the history but we don't have to show it".

I have to track down First Western Financial for a history. CA says they don't have a phone number either.

I then added disputes to the CRA's.

Where do I go from here?

    Thank you

You are being far too nice.

If you are dealing with fraudulent accounts, and you have a mortgage closing at stake, you need to get an attorney. You want one with experience dealing with FDCPA, FCRA, and debt collection litigation. It will be money well spent.

You will either get faster response in clearing the fraudulent accounts, or you may need to sue for damages. Either way, you come out ahead of doing it yourself.

Some of these debt collectors, even when presented with fraud affidavits and police reports, will still string you along, since your credit reports show you have a mortgage in the works. They are counting on you paying even a debt you don't owe, if you have to, to close.

They want money, and checking records that might show it is not your account won't get them a dime. You have to make clear dragging this out further might not only not get them anything, but might cost them.

You might look here for an attorney in your state with experience in this area:

    Thank you OnTrack

I successfully got the Portfolio Recovery and ATT w/ NCO release letter and then 2 CRA's deleted.

The way I finally got the promised release letter from NCO was after I was thoroughly run around on the phone and fed up. So I went on their website and located a CEO of Finance and wrote him a letter directly. I received the release letter via fax the next day.

My FICO zoomed nicely but my middle score isn't where I want it yet.

Now I am working on the other CRA.

    Thank you for your feedback.
