My CR is really long. There is no adverse items but a lot of accounts that I've been using for a couple of months. So I decided to dispute those which can not affect my score as NOT MINE.Do you guys believe they ( Equifax and TU ) are going to delete it?

Be VERY CAREFUL when DISPUTING "GOOD" accounts...you MAY end up with a FRAUD ALERT on your credit report(s)...

It is better to DISPUTE for ACCURACY...credit limit is NOT $6,000 (may be $5,900...they rounded it up)...
    ...not opened in 12/2000...(opened 11/2000)
    ...not a "joint account"...(your AU)

THEY THINK IT'S TOO MUCH WORK TO LET YOU HAVE A 100% PERFECT CREDIT REPORT!!!

It's easier to DELETE than INVESTIGATE...

What kind of fraud is that if I just want good but not very important accounts to be removed from my report?I can not wait 10 years for those to disappear.

You mean it's gonna be alert for the future creditors?
    Please explain.
    Thanks George!!!

What kind of trouble can I possibly have because of that FRAUD ALERT?

They would THINK that you DIDN'T apply for the account...a "STUPID" crook applied for it and made all the payments on time for you...

They put FRAUD ALERTS on credit reports...you have to do more proving of your identity (JUMP THROUGH EXTRA HOOPS)...AND YOU CAN'T DO ANY ON-LINE APPLYING FOR ANYTHING!!!

I am just going by what I have read on this web site...I have no personal experience with FRAUD...

If folks on this board tell you it will cause you problems, you'd better take their advice. It WILL cause you problems.

If you dispute a tradeline that is legit and active, a fraud alert may be placed on your file as a request of the creditor. Once this happens you will have a big red flag attached to your SS# (and, as someone here recently posted, even retained in a separate (5th) "cra" database). What that info will be used for is anyones guess.

Your tradeline may be cancelled immediately. You may be investigated for fraud for both opening up the account (which was you) and for disputing the inquiry (which was you).

This fraud alert may cause you years of headaches. May get you denied for credit...WILL get you denied everytime for online "instant" approvals.

Even legitimate requests for credit will be scrutinized for fraud.

Now some wouldn't call that trouble...some would call it fun. Either way you need to think carefully before you dispute legiimate accounts as "not mine".

Why not dispute as "inaccurate listing" instead and save the hassle, they seem to LOVE to delete positive trades when you simply dispute the inaccuracy of a balance or limit.

    Good point Dave,

That's why I recommended against going to court and claiming fraud when it's not true.

Thanks everyone for your opinion.I am new on this board and it's not that I am not listening when you giving me advice. The thing is I already disputed it a week ago online and now I am little affraid what's gonna happen. But I am still positive that they are going to delete it...because who cares about those:CLOSED ACCOUNT PER CONSUMER REQUEST,PAID ACCOUNT, PAID AS AGREED,NEVER LATE,ZERO BALANCE 4 or 5 yeras old.I hope so.
    Thanks again everyone!!!

    Dear ZB,

Those tradelines you describe sound positive to me. You should care about it. You want all the positive information you can get into your cr.

In a perfect world you'd want 10 pages of positive stuff and NO negatives.

Recent discussion on here has people talking about how to have CRA's AD positive info to your file.

    :)

Did someone read my posts? .I said my credit report is very long and without negative items.I just hate to see too many positive and not active items on it.I know most creditors like to see it but I just wanted those items that are not affecting my score to be removed.I am not so crazy like Breeze thinks and I do not want my oldest and active tradelines to be removed.

The question isn't did anyone read your posts, the question is did you read what everyone else posted? Just because you don't think it is going to affect you doesn't mean it won't. Deleting your oldest, paid off positive accounts will shorten your credit history for starters, which will lower your score. Deleting old paid off accounts in and of itself may lower your score. What is your concern with having old positive accounts reporting?

I must say again.I DO NOT WANT my old or oldest to be removed.Just those that I have used briefly for a couple of months back in 1998,1999 when I appliyed a lot.I hope it's CLEAR now. Thanks everyone for understanding!!!

No, it's not clear now. I know you don't want it on there. Why don't you want it on there. You are, despite what you may think, hurting yourself.

zb1965, I think you're under the impression that these two things are important to your score:
    1) your oldest tradeline
    2) your active tradelines

I agree with that, by the way. Along with that, though, I'm getting the idea that you believe that these don't impact your score:
    1) closed account per consumer request
    2) paid account
    3) paid as agreed
    4) never late
    5) zero balance 4 or 5 years old

I must disagree with you there. Many of us believe (through experience) that those types of accounts are actually very important to building your credit score. Positive but closed accounts that demonstrate responsible payment habits do great things for you in that regard. You should not seek to remove them. (I think you would agree that it makes logical sense that those positive accounts wouldn't HURT your score, right? So, even if they were neutral, you would still have no reason to seek deletions.) Finally, the warnings you received about fraud alerts (the infamous "hawk alert" on Trans Union) are actually important to consider. We have seen people denied credit here because of excessive fraud alerts. So when you hear very informed people like breeze contradict your idea that those good tradelines are "good but not very important" as you put it, please stop to consider that maybe they know what they're talking about.
