Does anyone know if it is possible to get off Citibank and Capital One blacklists after having a chargeoff with them? Will I ever be able to get credit from them again?

I did not have a BK, I just had a financial disaster going on....

    Any advice??

My Citibank Student MasterCard charged-off in 1996. I was able to get Citi AA Gold and Citi Platinum Select accounts in November of last year.

For Cap1, I'd recommend talking directly to Mr. Cooke. Send him a PFB first...

I recall a few threads where some members had some success...

    With Citibank,

If you're on their blacklist, you can get a new card with them IF the CO is paid, other stuff on your credit report is decent, and the CO was paid more than 2-3 years ago.

Search for the terms "marci citibank miracle" for my story.

Does anyone know if Citi will do the pay-off thing for BKs?

I can afford to pay-off past BK discharged accounts...as long as they make the account positive or disappear...

Don't take this as gospel... but I tried the very same thing and they refused to take payment after a bk7. They said legally the debt is discharged and thus they can't take payment.

Amex didn't feel that way, took the payment in full then issued a card ;) they only have a 1 year wait to drop off the list completely but you can get an override before that.
