Hi I've been searching for an answer on this and haven't seen anything yet.
I'm trying to settle with a creditor so I can possible avoid court/BK altogether.
Would a creditor (GMAC in this case) be willing to actually REMOVE the
reposession from my credit if I settle with them? I would be willing to pay above
what they want if they would remove it...like it never happened. Any idea
if this is possible? Thank you so much for the help.

Anything is possible. Keep talking politely until you get a manager with the authority to have your repo or cr record deleted. They want paid, that's why they are in business. Whatever you do I would not offer more than the balance. Make sure any agreement is in WRITING and payment should be by Cashier Check with statement to remove all derog info upon cashing per written agreement. Good luck.
