went to try to get a car friday. went to 2 dealerships and never filled any paperwork out. called both on saturday and gave the salesman my info. they ended up shopping around enough that i have a total of 13 hards on my CR's dropping my scores over 30 points. do i have any case to get some of these removed as there is nothing stating
    1. that i ever authorized any credit pulls
    2. that i gave either dealership the ok to shop this around
    3. i do have damamges now because with the drop my scores are back in sub prime territory

    SWK,

Did you happen to specifically tell them not to pull your report?

Or did they tell you they would/might?

    ???

Try the CRA first..."I DID NOT APPLY FOR ANY CREDIT WITH THESE COMPANIES...I WAS WINDOW SHOPPING"

"THEY" SAY ALL INQUIRES IN 14 DAYS COUNTS AS ONE!!!

I have NEVER had anybody say that they "RE-CODED" it for them...they just DELETED!!!

    DELETED IS BETTER

    What credit report is this?

I tried disputing some off mine: Equifax deleted them no quesitons asked, TU denied it and wouldn't delete them. If it's equifax then just send them a letter saying they were "unauthorized" and you should be able to get rid of them.

How about suing the dealership for $1000 for each inquiry? I refer you to the Coffey Letter issued by the Federal trad Commission which covers this item in detail.

The fact that you had left the dealership without initiating an offer to purchase means the Coffey Letter deals with your situation exactly.

    the following CR were pulled

    4 eq
    2 exp
    7 tu

now 1 dealer had 9 pulled the other 4. do i have damages here. i more want to get the dealer who pulled 9 as he had no reason to shop me around. would i go after the dealer or the lender who pulled. also i have been accepted at the dealer who pulled 4 at 2.9%. i'm not sure we want that vehicle but with the drop in my credit score i dont think i would get that good of a rate again anywhere else.

    Thanks

"I never gave you permission to pull a credit report 12 times...you can REMOVE all 12 inquires or have them RE-CODED to "SOFT" or you can pay me $1,000 in SMALL CLAIMS COURT"
