Mail call (for my gf)--a "Pre-approved" Platinum card from CapitalOne. All she has to do is call, mail or login and she can get her pre-approved card. $3500 CL, 0.0% until July (including BT) , goto rate of 13.9%. So she called the number and the automated system gave her the "Wait 15 days" message. I'm wondering if it's because she called a little after midnight and no humans were around for backup?

Any ideas on how she can speed things up (and make sure she's approved)? I read about people calling a reconsideration department but I think that was only for Amex.

Had a friend who applied with the pre-approval number. He did it online and was given instant approval but he did not know his cl. His form mentioned up to 7.5k and he was given 5k.

If your gf's credit is good, this could be a 'more information' notice instead of a rejection.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

I got a "pre-approved" platinum offer in the mail. I sent it in and got back a GOLD card with $2000 and the exact same terms (0% intro, 9.9%).

    GO FIGURE...

Yup. I did the same last week. Call 1-800-548-4593

when the system asks for s.s. number, put in the wrong one a couple times and it will give you to live person. till 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. They are open on Sat.

They told me my approval and limit and when to expect it. Tell them you want to be sure that it doesn't get stolen.

Even the CapOne reps admit when prodded that the KEY WORDS missing from your post are "UP TO". It is "UP TO $3500 CL"...those $300.00's come easily, the $3,500.00's, not so much.

I received two offers in distinct looking envelopes today for this card, both "guaranteed". Has anyone else accepted the offer, and, if so what limits did you get? Mine was for a 14.9 fixed go-to rate, 0% intro with a $59 annual fee. Anyone???

    You too eh :)

Good news was after being good for 4 months Cooke bumped it up to $800. He did, however - waive the monthly fee, so now the card is free :)

Thanks again Mr. Cooke! Talk to you again in 6 months :)

My brother get the same offer from the mail from Cap 1and he is not going to apply for it. Usually you get the subprime terms with Platinum card with perfect history. In my experience, all the Platinum Cards has no annual fee and 9.9% fixed APR. I dont' any Platinum Card with annual fee and 14.99% fixed APR. Capital One wanted some more money from you and they didn't make enough money.

Anyone take the offer and get a decent limit?

I got a 1k limit, and for some reason my fee is only $39/year. 1k isn't really a decent limit for a platinum card, but it's a decent limit for me at the moment. ;)

I wonder if this is one of those deals that if you don't respond to the first one, thye keep sending subsequent offers with better terms?

    Fat Jake,

What were your scores? Were any of the "Included in BK" accts showing, or just the BK itself? I have a 13 on file from 96 as well, with all accts showing included.
