Pre-approved for mortgage today!

Wooohoooo! We were pre-approved for a mortgage this morning! We are purchasing a new construction. She gave a choice of locking in 3 or 4 months. She said we could lock in at today's rate (6.75%) for 3 months. OR lock in at 7% for 4 months with the option of floating down if interest rate goes down one month prior to closing. She called the builder while on conference call with me and they said the house may go into September before the house is ready (was supposed to close Aug 25th). She said it was up to me if I wanted to take the chance that they would not finish in 3 months and risk going at market rate at that time. I chose to lock in for 4 months at 7% and hope that it lowers so that I can take the lower rate.

ANYWAY, I just wanted to thank each and every one of you from helping me since I joined this board. There is NO WAY we would have been approved for a loan back in Feb. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I will keep you all posted.....
