i received a pre approval offer from capitol one on there tj max visa i accepted and was told it would take up to two weeks to process? when i called customer service today they said they still did not have a decision made and i should hear from them by 04/12. wtf?? what good is pre approved if they are not going to approve you on the spot. i have for the last six months been completely consumed with increasing my scores i eat breath and sleep the cra's. i even had a nightmare about tu. i get the pre approval offer get all excited and now i feel like a bomb has been dropped i am about to hang up my hat
so why do they even say pre approved if thats not what is means? i get pre selected all the time and toss them i just dont get it
They pay the CRA'S to send a list of possible SUCKERS~~~~OH SORRY ME BAD~~~~card holders that meet certain requirements... They may ask for people who have "EMPTY" (un-used) cards...they may ask for people who have credit limits $50,000+...they may ask for a list of people who have mortgages...
This may be the reason they're taking some time in approving you: If you look closely at the pre-approved offer, it should say somewhere ( in small print, of course ) that they still need to pull a copy of your credit report, you still need to meet their "criteria" for approval, and that if for any reason there was a negative change in your credit report since they did the pre-approval (PRM inq), they can deny you. BTW, what was the TU nightmare about, if you don't mind me asking?
i would guess you are approved. Or else they would say no. There is a special number to check on approval.
I just got one of those pre-approved offers myself. The APR was almost 26% and then I read that if you even had one late pay, the APR went to 32%. I don't need a credit card that bad to accept those kind of terms.
their automated line just keeps telling me the are reviewing my application. the nightmare please do not laugh was i had to get two inquirys off my tu report if i did not a giant abe lincoln and george washington would destroy everything i am standing in there offices begging and crying and all they kept saying was sorry cant help you and i am going they are going to desstroy everything if you dont do this and they just kept bellowing no the ground started shaking and i looked out the window and sure enough they were coming full speed at the building and i woke up
PRE means "before" so "Pre-approved" is technically correct. It is a marketing gimmick to get you to apply. Since you can't get approved until you apply, you are "pre-approved".
well the pre approval was a big loss they denied me the csr said because of info contained in my equifaxc credit report. screwww what my tu and experian say. i wrote to them threw pfb and they emailed me back telling me to call mr cooke i am sure he will give me the same song and dance. nevermind i have two accounts with below 100 balances with cl's of 1800. i am just so depressed
I have got so called "PRE-APPROVED" applications and been DENIED WAY TOO MANY TIMES... They say your credit report has changed... I have paid off $XX,XXX in the past 3 months..."YOU THINK THAT IS BAD"??? That's alright I will put your bank on my NEVER list...
