HERE IS THE PROOF!!! https://www.applyonlinenow.com/USapp/Ctl/redirect?CV_sourceCode=ADID&CV_MC=A0000000AV#apply 1.70% BT "GO-TO" 12.99% OFFER THAT CAME IN THE MAIL----->0.00% BT...."GO-TO" (WAS 7.90%...NOW 9.90%)...BUT IT IS STILL A WAY BETTER OFFER THAN THE "NORMAL" OFFER!!! MORE EVIDENCE---"OPT-OUT" IS JUST WRONG!!! "INVITATION TO APPLY" "PRE-APPROVED" "PRE-SELECTED" "HAND-SELECTED" STILL BETTER OFFERS... YMMV
I opted out by calling the 1-800 number and I see it says "promotional block" on equifax but not on TU or Experian....I disputed it via TU awhile back but never heard a darn thing....I don't want those offers....
THAT IS YOUR PREROGATIVE... I WOULD NOT "OPT-OUT" EVEN FOR MONEY...BUT THAT IS ME I even called and asked for DOUBLE, THEN TRIPLE "OPT-IN"
Well yes it is MY decision. I don't need anymore credit....I don't live beyond my means...I have credit that is great...I don't carry balances...therefore interest rates don't matter to me. I don't want to overextend myself and that stuff is just junk mail to me. Therefore I want my CR to state I opted out. Is there something wrong with THAT?
"Overextending myself" and "living beyond my means" are good things to avoid, but they are quite different from obtaining credit. They are the result of overusing whatever credit one obtains. The point about balances is well taken. If one never carries balances, AND will never need to carry balances in emergency situations, then APR's are irrelevant. However, if carrying balances is bad, then low APR's are good for most people, who do carry balances. Those low APR's help us pay off our balances more efficiently and attain the state of financial bliss more quickly.
Re: Re: "PRE-APPROVED" offers are better... I am NOT over-extended...I JUST WANT LOWER RATES...BETTER "MIX" OF CARDS...they WON'T show up if I "OPT-OUT" I ALSO WANT MY CREDIT REPORTS TO BE 100% CORRECT!!! WHAT IS SAD IS AFTER 25+ YEARS...IT STILL IS NOT 100% CORRECT!!! I don't live beyond my means<----IS THIS THE CATCH-ALL-PHRASE???
Re: Re: "PRE-APPROVED" offers are better... I WOULD NEVER REFUSE TO "MAX" OUT A 0.00% RATE CARD..."IF" THAT IS----->live beyond my means...TUFF 100% OF ALL CARDS OVER 7.99% ARE PAID IN FULL 100% OF THE TIME... 7.99% IS NEXT TO GO...(WIFE'S)
Re: Re: "PRE-APPROVED" offers are better... George, You need to chill out. I said I didn't want to overextend myself. That is why I opt out. I NEVER said you did.
