What does the term Pre-Approved mean? Does it mean that they don't pull a credit report? Or does it mean that they already have (without permission)? Thanks!
It means that they pull a soft inquiry on you. If you have to complete a pre-approval application with your ss# more than likely a hard inquiry will be pulled. Best regards, Mirage
LOL George! I guess I'm lucky they would even invite me to apply! I feel so honored! Seriously though, I got five of these in the mail today and I've not applied for credit recently. Pulled report in September and there were numerous inquiries on there from places I've never heard of. I know not to worry about inquiries yet in my credit repair journey. Just kinda made me wonder. ;-)
The benefits are...A LOT LESS QUESTIONS (than a regular application)... Sometimes TOTAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME, instead of individual income... Many times MUCH BETTER terms...INTRO % AND "GO-TO" %... All you have to lose is an INQUIRY...
SOMETIMES you get "EXTRA" points for "PRE-APPROVED" application... If you were 5 F.I.C.O. points from approval, you MIGHT get the 5 extra points instead of just a big DENIED (if they have a specific F.I.C.O. # for approval). NOTE, I HAVE F.I.C.O. 704, WIFE F.I.C.O. 741 AND WE BOTH GET DENIED ALL THE TIME.
