if a $500 platinum card with 16.9% apr and a yearly fee is prime to you, then yes. :)

    cap 1 has many faces.

they service the whole spectrum of credit.

their plat ho hassle 8.9 fixed across the board card is one of the most prime cards out there.

The best thing about Cap1 is they're very flexible with you once you prove yourself credit worthy with them. they have an internal score they'll go by not just your external credit scores.

I've heard they pull all 3 CRA's - is this true?

Yes, they pulled credit reports from all 3 credit bureaus when you apply for their Platinum Card.

    Ender,

I think since you are getting Prime cards now, I would NOT apply for Capital One. You are likely not going to get a high limit, very good interests and they do NOT report CL.

I have a B of A $8800 Platinum, Generations $6000, Chase (on the way dont know limit) and Eddie Bauer Mastercard (might close it).

When Experian is clean Monday, I will apply for Old Navy & JC Penney (I have no retail cards) State Farm Visa and MBNA.

I will apply for AMEX something when Equifax is clean and that's all I will need for a LONG time.

You are now in a position to accept only high limits and low interest, so I wouldn't mess with CO.

Christi - you should apply for First USA (yahoo) and Everbank, State Farm after your EXP is clean..

I got nice limits on those cards .. my CE is 764.

    Ever - 12.5k
    State Farm - 10k
    Yahoo First USA - 25k

Amex is inquiry sensitive. You may want to search the board for their guidelines on approvals... I don't remember the exact details but I do know they hate a lot of inquiries...

WOW!!! Is Everbank and First USA good companies? I don't want anyone who won't offer good interest rate as well. I will know what my score is Monday :) Then I will apply before the other new cards start reporting (BofA, FCNB and Chase). I know the new approvals with bring my score down.

I am sick of there 500 limit took too.I am gonna see if they will let me combine my card into one. I have a no fee 12.99 gold card I want them to combine the rest of my others on to it.

Everbank is excellent.. no annual fee, low rates.. online access - good stuff.

As for Yaho First USA, they have a 1.9% rate until September..

    Christi,

I have Fiest USA Yahoo! Visa for over three years and I didn't have any problems with them. They lowered my rate from 13.99% to 10.99% APR.
I have Everbank Platinum card and they have 8.4% APR. It is too new for me to rate their card. They reported my account to Experian and TransUnion not Equifax. I liked BofA customer serivice and it is too bad that there is no cash bacl rewards for their Platinum Card. I can pay BofA bill by transferring funds from Bof Checking and they posted it in the following business day. I don't have Chase card. I have FCNB Eddie Bauer Cards for a year and they don't on-line payment. I made payment thru Bof A bill pay and they posted within a couple of days.
