It's just more than a score, it's a combination of other factors as well- negatives, history, utilization, types of credit, recent inqs, etc. My guess a score in the 690-700s is a good enough score for most prime cards with no negs, inqs of 1-2 in the last 6 months, a good history and utilization in the 10%- low 20s% As to what cards, depends on what you are looking to get out of it. Are you looking for fixed low purchase APRs, low BT's, reward points, high credit lines. In reading and posting here on CN, there is no such thing as a perfect cc, as it just depends on the eyes of the beholder. In general most of the regulars here look at Amex, BofA, Chase, Bank One, Citibank, and MBNA as the heavy hitters for your standard prime cards. Best regards, Mirage
