Is there any conpany that will give a useable card to some one with a 6 year old chapter 7. When I say useable card I mean one with a deacent limet . I just closed 2 first primear cards with 250 and 550 limets because I was paying over 220 dollars in fees. Tu 650 Ex 640 EF 675
You shouldn't have much trouble getting decent credit card offers if your Bk is 6 yrs old, any other derogs on there? Are you current with everything else? Ny wife & I have a 4 yr old BK7, but still get 9.9% offers from Cap One,(3 cards) $7k, $5.5k, $3k limits, also have BofA Gold & just got Platinum! So the BK in of itself shouldn't be to much of a problem at this point, with a few exceptions such as Citi.
Equifax 640 leaves a bit to be desired. If I read you correctly, you want cards that don't cost you. As in no annual fee. Well, I would go for a Target Guest card. I got mine last fall. I only got a $200 line, but I did get the card. My Equifax score at the time was about 665 with a 5 year old CH 7 BK. Gas credit cards are supposed to be easy to get. Check out http://www.cardoffers.com Building credit takes time. Keep your applications for credit spaced 90 days apart and work your way up. Good luck Erik.
I have a charge off on Exp due to fall off 8-2002 (should have ben included in bk ) they keep verifing it but since is will fall of soon I'm not going to wory about it much. I used Dock's trick to dispute all inquires hopefulythat will help. Tu and Eq are showing a 30 day late that is 5 years old I am disputeing right now . ( not even mine) Other than that all reports are clean other than Included in Bk sort of stuff. I have student loans that predate the Bk and I have never been late on them and a Cap One card . Thanks
You got a BofA Gold with a 4 year old bk7 showing on the credit report pulled by BofA???? Virtually ALL prime cards automatically reject any credit report with a bk7 of any age showing. Is BofA really an exception???
Cap1 will give you a card. Search them on the board and you'll learn many methods to improve your terms. If you have a BofA and get a Cap1... don't bother with Providian. they're sliding downhill quickly. Two decent credit cards is fine to start with... later Cap1 will offer you another card and within 2 years you can work to Platinum with them... I have. If you can get an installment loan (even a cd secured one) that would also help rebuild. Past that, keep the BofA and Cap1 cards and let them age.... as the other stuff drops you want some current good credit to go into the model.
Sorry, there are still plenty of prime cards which will grant credit to those of us with bk's,..btw, my wife has since gotten approved for a BofA Platinum card with an$8100 limit! So the offers are out there.
