I've noticed a few people making PG references and figured out what it is. To date, I've experimented with CreditExpert (nice to get a score but otherwise not worth it, my Experian online disputes keep my CR "alive" online) and Equifax Gold (no score but I can get lotsa reports and it's only $10 for this month) My question is - does PG allow you unlimited pulls on all your reports? I see a reference to one pull, but maybe just for the trial period of three months? Do they give you scores from all three agencies? And do the inquiries show up as soft pulls, like if you use EXP or EQ's service? If they give you unlimited pulls and a score each time, that seems like a very good deal.
"Unlimited", in this case, means one pull per day. You get one score with the report and it is a CreditXpert score based on your EQ file. IT IS NOT A TRUE FICO SCORE ! You get 3 reports side-by-side from EQ, EX, and TU. There have been a few complaints of these reports lagging what the CRAs show from time to time AND the report format is subject to the same incompleteness that most 3-in-1 reports are. I would recommend it only for monitoring the progress of disputes you may have in progress. Then, if you see a change in one CRA, you can go pull a real report directly from that CRA, as you should have already done for the basis of your dispute. OMMV
Privacy Guard is the best investment I have ever made. It does have some inaccuracy but overall it is great to watch your reports. You tend to notice problem faster so that you can head them off at the pass.
I signed up - for three months I can try it as much as I want. It seems alright and it only gives one score - EQ, which is my lowest to date of 585. I have seen my EXP go up to 626 and my TU is 673 - but they use a scale that goes up to 950, so it's probably not as high as it sounds initially.
When you pull a PG it shows as a soft too. There was a problem a while back, but it looks like they fixed it.
Just remember, th PG score is a FAKO score based on EQ, not FICO. The broader scale TU score and an EX score (when pulled from EX) are also FAKO scores, not FICO.
