I signed up for the two month free trial of Privacy Guard back in August and I have pulled my credit report from that site at least 3 times per week. Two weeks ago I received a 40 point jump on my scores. Continued pulling my report and I see that after about 30 reports there isn't one thing different on any of them. Am I still seeing the same report from August? Why would my scores change but my report hasn't. I was expecting an increase in FICO scores from some derogs I got rid of but none have been reported yet. Only the CA has claimed to have reported them. Anyone else know about this or have had them same problem?
My score used to change every few days. It hasn't changed for over a month. I haven't looked at all of the details because I've been too busy, but I can't believe that as balances go up and down it wouldn't change. I've been wondering about that. Anyone know if there's a better service out there?
I notice my score and report changing regularly. I don't get in to pull as often as I did for a while, but usually after a statement comes out most of the reports are updated.
Just a thought: You may already be doing it but: Are you pulling a "New" report each time? Or are you just looking at the previous report?
I've used CreditKeeper (which Privacy Guard now owns?) since May 2004. I have seen items updated/removed after I looked over the reports and found things to dispute. Have sent a good 10-15 items to the 3 CRA's and have had overall positive results. Keep in mind what George said, your PG is indeed F.A.C.O. Those scores are NOT, I repeat *NOT*, FICO scores although they could be close to the real thing. If you want the actual FICO, pull your Equ/Exp/TU report. Look at the bottom of your PG report (mine is a good 30+ pages long) on that final page, and you'll see the following: "A Personal Credit Score is provide to help you better understand how lenders evaluate your credit report.......CreditXpert is not connected in any way with Fair, Isaac and Company; the Personal Credit Score is not a so-called FICO score. CreditXpert Inc. does not represent that the Personal Credit Scores are identical in every respect to any consumer credit score produced by any other company." And there you have it, folks!!
I agree with GEORGE--it's definitely not a fraud, but it's definitely not FICO, either. In some cases it's close, in others, not. I'm going to refinance my house again, so I'll let you know how much my scores are off. I went in with a copy of my PG report, so they haven't pulled yet. They've promised me a copy of my report when they do.
I know the Scores are F.A.C.O. , my concern is I have letters from settled accounts which the CA has stated they have adjusted tradelines and/or removed them altogether yet everyday I pull my report for the last month and a half I have seen no evidence of these changes. The same report from August comes out today and I order a new one each time not viewing an old report.
If you have disputes in progress, EQ does not count those accounts when figuring your credit score. So, if you are disputing 3 derogs, those 3 accounts are not used in calcuating your score which may or may not explain the sudden increase.
