My son had a private student loan through Wells Fargo. It has been paid off. They never sent me or my son anything to indicate it was paid off. I was the cosigner and the one who paid it off. They said they don't do that and to just save my final check to prove payment. They won't even send me a final bill to show a 0 balance. Is this typical? It does show up on the credit reports as paid in full and I have saved these. Incidently, I did not like dealing with them and would not recommend them for your student loan needs.
