anyone ever heard of this company? I just received a call from them about a debt for my wife. The conversation started off very pleasing, however when I refused to give him my wife's work phone number, he became very irate and threatened to garnish my wife's wages. I then informed him to please send me a detailed report of what is owed and why via US MAIL and he again became irate and stated that I was not "taking him seriously". I then stated for him to never call this number again and that I would be sending a "cease and desist letter" to them in the mail, his response "Oh please, you can't even spell cease and desist". WTF?????? Who are these people and what can I do about them? Anyway, I hung up after that comment.
Is it Bill Bauer that has the recording of how to answer those kind of calls? In his recording he turns the table on the poor, unsuspecting CA. I don't normally feel a lot of sympathy for CAs but after hearing him grill her over the phone, it was hard not to. There's no way I can repeat such a performance, but basically, instead of answering a single question, he grills the CA for their name, address, DOB, SSN, business address, etc. Why? so he can send the payment, or the law suit, or... The problem is, of course, when you aren't expecting the calls, it can be hard to get into "attack dog" mode. At least for me, anyway.
