Must a CRA (specificallly TU) list the "Date Opened" and "Date Closed" for an account that has been charged off? I have charged off account which is over 7 years old but since those vital dates are not being reported by the CA, it still remains.

How can I get TU to report these dates? I would really appreciate a response to this, I dont know how to handle this. My letters to TU requesting the dates be added come back "verified".

Thank you so much in advance.

I had that same problem with TU. I finally called and disputed and explained in detail that I needed the dates reported for these accts. It was finally corrected.

It's past the 7 yr period.Make them take it off or go to court.

    Hi DrChrisCat,

Don't do this the hard way by sending a letter. TU knows they don't report the DLA. Therefore they allow phone calls to a CSR to find out and they don't give you a hard time with it. So just call them first and ask what the Date Of Last Activity is.

If it's 7 yrs. old ask them to delete and that'll be the end of it.

Let us know how it goes.

    HTH,
