i applied for an account at Pentagon Federal Credit Union today (www.penfed.com). I applied for checking account, credit card and line of credit of $2000. First they asked me to fax over documents confirming my income, which I did. Then I called to get status and they said my documents were satisfactory but my application was now being handlded by the fraud department because some stuff on my credit file didn't match what was on my application. I know they pulled Equifax and I have that file right in front of me now. The only thing that doesn't match up is that Equifax has added a middle initial that is not actually not mine. Apart from that, address, date of birth, social and everything else all matches up. They said they cannot move forward until I speak to their ID verification people on Monday morning. I'm not very pleased.

I know it seems WAY over the top. I've looked at everything on my report and everything else is fine. I don't understand what is going on.
