Problem with defaulted student loan

Early last year I helped my girlfriend pull her finances together, including getting her a payment plan on a defaulted private student loan. She has made ontime payments for 12 months, and to be honest, now she is better with her money than I am!

Here is the problem. The loan was origionally with CitiBank. When it went into default, they sold it to LCS Financial. We just pulled her credit report from Experian, and LCS has not reported anything. CitiBank shows as "Claim filed with government / past due 120 days." I understand that a bad mark will remain on file for a long time, but this is very misleading. Is there anything that I can do to get them to show that this account was sold/closed or whatever term they may use? When we tried calling Citi they couldn't even look up any info on her account, they said that it had been sold and we need to deal with LCS.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.
