What do you do when you send a discription of procedure letter and they send you a standard form letter describing their investigating procedures in general, never addressing how they investigated a particular item? This was with Trans Union.
I have never really got what I demanded. I ask for who they contacted, when, what means (mail/phone/fax) and what is the address and or number they used. I usually get the standard company name and address but not the person spoken to. Experian just sent me the same page I got with the dispute resolution. I think the purpose of this document is to show to a court that you did everything possible to have the listing corrected and puts the honus on the CA to as to why they verified an incorrect listing. More than for something like describing a special procedure that the CRA "did" (we all know they don't have procedures Of course if the procedure letter can not be sent to you, then you have the CRA for violating the FCRA (but they will justmake it up) -Peace, Dave
