i have two tradelines from cbcs that says i owe them for two seperate phone bills. one which has been paid in full to OC and one is 1/2 paid and will be finished this month to OC. I didnt even know they had the debt when i made arragments with OC to pay I have disputed it two times with CRAs no luck with EQ TU still waiting on EXP a suggestion from an earlier post was that i write CRA and demand a proceedure request can someone please direct me to a thread or a link that will tell me about this proceedure and how to use it as leverage to get trade line removed? also can this tactic be used on other derogs?
Go to the sample letters section. It is the area you come to right before you click Credit Talk to get in. Before you click credit talk look for sample letters and click that. There should be a procedural request letter there. Personalize it for your situation and send it to the CRA. They are obligated by law to provide you with the procedure they used to verify the account. When you get this info, you can them write to the CA and demand deletion of the tradeline because they are reporting innacurate data. However, what might happen is theat upon recieving your procedural request (if your lucky) the CRA may just delete, if in fact they lied and never really verified with the CA or OC.
thank you for pointing that section out to me I looked right past it two times. DUH! i did however read in the credit repair section that you definitly do not want the CRAs to know what you are up to. as far as repairing your credit. i have sent in two disputes on these and several other items and i have bigger fish to fry on my report should i wait on sending proceedure request on the small items and work on big things first?
Every fish is a big fish when it comes to repairing your credit or at least that's my view of it. I don't see what you mean by letting them know what you are up to. What are you up to? You want what is entitled to you by law and that is for them to give you the procedure they used to verify this account. You can request this any time you want for hawever many accounts they investigate on your behalf. I would start trying to get deletions anyway I can if I were you so go on and send the procedure request. Also, start working on the other stuff too. The thing is that the proces is often so slow it pays to have a couple irons in the fire all at once. Good Luck!
i really appreaciate the good advice and i have a couple more questions for you robin or anyone else who may have an answer. 1 this proceedure request should you send seperate letters for each account or is it ok to send more than one on a sigle letter to each CRA 2 if you send a goodwill letter to ask for a removal are you killing your chance for a dispute
I would send one letter citing the credit report number and attaching a copy of the results page they mailed you. In the letter I would say I am requesting that you provide me with the procedure you used to verify the following accounts: Insert Accounts Here Please provide me with the full name, title, telephone number and business address of each contact person that you spoke with to verify the above accounts as is my right under the FCRA. Something to that effect should do. What are you sending the goodwill letter to ask for removal on? Personally, I don't think goodwill letters are "good" for deletions. I think they are effective for removing some lates but that's about it. Just my opinion, but if you want a deletion I wouldn't go the goodwill route.
i am only thinking of using "goodwill" letter to remove two more than 30 day late mortgage payments from 99. when i was out of work? i think you (robin) suggested this from a post i had yesterday maybe not ill have to double check
