Do promotional inquiries stay on your report 1 or 2 years? I thought I read 2, my letter from TU says 2 years, but I could have sworn I read on the FCRA website that they stay for 1 year. I must be blind becuase I've checked that site again, and can't see anything about 1 year. I know these aren't supposed to make any difference in your score, but I already have a letter to send off to Experian and I might as well get as much bang for my postage stamp as possible. Anyone???
I've had success by just going online (experian's website), going to request investigation, and placing between 4-6 inquires in dispute, and they delete within 2-4 weeks. Just select, no knowledge of inquiry.
ON-LINE WWW.EXPERIAN.COM "THESE ARE 1+ YEARS OLD...PLEASE REMOVE" They are supposed to only stay for one year. Also, if I am the ONLY one to see them (SO THEY SAY)...I DON'T NEED THEM.
Thanks - I will dispute them... there are about 25 of them that are over a year old - some are 2 years old. Ozzy.
Any inquiries that are approx. 24 months old will drop off any day, don't bother disputing those, and don't dispute more than 5 or 6 at a time.
Do you know how to do this on equifax because it didnt bring up the inquiry section on the investigation that I started?
I believe Equifax is the only CRA that does not allow you to dispute inquiries online. I believe you need to mail your dispute in writing to them, and be sure to send it CRRR.
It doesn't matter how you send it. EFX will NOT remove any inquiries unless served with a lawsuit. Saar
Re: Promo Inq will effect score On my TU report inquries are listed under 3 titles: Regular Its says these companies receive my full report. We know these are hard inquries and they count. Account Review Says these companies didn't see my full report and their name is only seen by me;says my score is not effected. Promotional Says these companies didn't see my full report. However, it doesn't say how my score is effected and it doesn't say who sees the inquiry! After reading Marie's old post http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...ier+2#post72593 I am convinced that promotional inquiries count. I am going to dispute them because I didn't apply or if I did they denied me! Ain't that nothing! They hurt my score without me asking and then denied me!
