My mom added me onto her Sears card. It took almost two months for it to show up - but it did today on Equifax. Raised my score 131 points! She also added me onto her Best Buy card - still hoping for that one to show up. One very happy...Mommy2cats
That's great Mommy2cats!! What is the usage on that card? My Mom already has me as AU on her Sears card, but it isn't reporting on any of the CRA's. The usage is high (Maybe 75% used), but the account is old and current. As I just got my scores up to where I want them, I'd hate to take a chance of tanking my scores if I get this added. How did you go about gettign it added or did it just show up?? Thanks.
It is from 1975. (although interestingly, on my report it only said as of 1995 - so 20 years missing). My problem is that I didn't have much in the way of positive credit. I'd stopped using credit cards years and years ago. So basically, all I really have is my car loan, and an old mortgage (really good credit - but short-lived). I've got a few derogs left. I think my oldest account is 1996. So it made a BIG difference to me. It just showed up after my parents added me. Took almost two months. They hadn't used the card in several years - but my mom just went out and used it for something. So, it was at zero balance. I think she just charged for under $100 and will pay it right off. She decided to do that because it kept not showing up. But it did finally show up - so her using it can only help. Mommy2cats
Sorry you already answered that! Are you checking your others to see if they were affected? Let us know!
Thanks HockeyMom! I have both Credit Expert and Credit Watch. I'm hoping it shows up on Experian soon. I''ll pull TU later this week. I think Sears is good about reporting on all three. I'd love for it to show up on TU - my score is a whopping 501 with them right now. Mommy2cats
No. AU accounts will not affect the primary card holder - UNLESS I happened to go out and charge something and she or I didn't pay for it. As I never plan to use the card - no problem. Mommy2cats
That is spectacular! Dang, my mom paid off everything she has 10 years ago. Poor lady has zero credit after 30+ years of perfect payments; can't even get a dept. store card now!
