I have only 1 negative TL remaining on my reports. I have worked very hard to remove everything else over the past 8 months and my FICO scores have jumped to the 650 range. I was approved for a Capital One, Bank of America and Target card as well as a brand new Audi A4. However, I need assistance and/or advice with this Asset Acceptance TL.

I requested DV via CRRR mail in September and did not receive a response. I also disputed with all 3 CRA's, but it's coming back as verified. I sent a follow-up DV letter recently but am not expecting to hear anything back. The account is for roughly $1900 (not sure about the original amount, if any) because the Providian account in question has not had any acknowledgment or anything since 2001 or early 2002.

I live in Florida and believe the account has past its SOL. However, I do not know what my next move should be. I also recently (2-3 weeks ago) filed a BBB complaint on Asset Acceptance but have not yet heard back from them. I want this account removed ASAP, but am kind of stuck and losing hope. What should I do?

Hang in there with Asset. I just went through a similar situation with them..basically did the same steps as you have done...My firts letter back from them was the usual one page form showing name SSN and original creditor.. Second letter they sent was them wanting Me to call and discuss the account.(Yeh Right.Just aint gonna happen)). My last step was to report them to the BBB.. With in less than a month they backed down.Received a letter from from them stating that although they believed the debt to be valid they would stop all collection actvity.. Its frustrating but you may get the same results..

im not an expert but i believe that if they never sent you validation but verified with the CRA, they are in violation. also, if you sent CRRR then you can send a letter to the CRA noting that you have sent validation..send copies of the letters you sent and the CRRR's..they should delete it.
