Up to a few months ago, most credit card offers I saw were offering a special BT deals. Then, they suddenly switched to offering 0% purchase deals (no BT's). Got a new one yesterday from Providian. 0% on all purchases for nine months, but only if you do a BT when you open your account. Up to $30,000 CL. Let's see, if I put $30,000 on the card and they raise my rate to 29.9%, that means only $8970.00 in interest per year, or $747.50 per month. I see now how they sucker people in on their deals. Have I really sunk so low that I am getting offers from Providian?
LOL, they seem to think they can make their offers to folks with better credit now. Providian really doesn't get it. I am beginning to think they only know one thing.
This is first time anybody here has posted a Providian CL line up to 30k and a 9 month BT. I think we are seeing the first signs of Providian's new marketing focus. Was this offer a Plat. status card? Best regards, Mirage
I know it was Platinum. I don't know if it said status. Truthfully, when I saw the name on the outside of the envelope, I tore it up and threw it away without opening it. Later, I retrieved it just to see what the offer was. Then, back in the trash.
thomas, thanks for the info. Sometimes its fun to see how these cc companies operate. You would think someone from marketing would just log onto this board and read the posts. Than again cc companies fear the educated consumer and this is what this board is about. Best regards, Mirage
