Providian changing? Between us, my wife and I have three accounts with providian. Last month she gat a special offer 7.99 APR till 1/2003 with a go to of 18.99. Then I just got a $500 cl increase and a special 3.99% APR thru 3/2003 with a go to of 16.99. This is alot better than the 23.99% we both had, plus, We have always kept relatively small balances or paid off the cards from month to month, but this is certainly a big surprise from a company so despised by many. Does anyone know why they are being "nice" all of a sudden?
Re: Providian changing? How long have you had the card? I hope they are nice to me soon, but my card is relatively new! I'm paying it off this month, and will try not to use it much from now on--not worth it. I tried to call the CSR and ask for a CL increase, but they don't do that at the constumers request, only when they are good and ready for it. Good for you. Finally they are at least being nice to someone!!
Re: Providian changing? We've had 1 account for over a year. The other two are 6 and 7 months old. On the platinum they haven't offered anything, so it sets in the sock drawer. 23.99% of 0 is still 0...lol. Granted their CSR dept. sucks. I don't even know why they bother answering the phone. They might as well answer the phone with a recording saying, "whatever your request is, the answer is no!"
