Pulled Experian...and 0% int until 9-04 on BT's and purchases, then "as low as 9.99"....The one they pulled has one 6 year old paid medical CA and everything else positive..so we shall see.... Will keep you informed..
i called to cancel my card a few weeks ago, my credit had improved quite a bit since i first got it. they offered me a no annual fee, 11% card. i decided to keep it becuase of the abilty to check fico for free. plus it was the card i had for the longest.
Providian has had prime programs in the past. I had one of their cards in the late '90s that had a 5.9% rate ... but they sold my account to Chase (presumably along with everyone else in that program) when they were strapped for cash to pay some lawsuit settlements.
Yeah, the only pulled EX..gave him $1500, 0% till Sept. Don't know what standard will be after that...no annual fee...etc... Beats the heck out of the CCB he had! Haven't even gotten the card yet but the BT's went through so I know he did....
Does anyone know if Providian is coverting current Providian Plt. card members to the Provid. Real Rewards Plt.? Best regards, Mirage
Talked with a very nice gentleman in India, gave me the automated status line. Like Nan's DH I also had a $1500 balance transfer go through but no other details (0% till September). Called 1-800-356-0023 Waited entered SS# and zip code. Confirmed my current balance was $1500 and my credit limit was $5,500. Rate?? will update. About 8 negs, all 4 years old privacy guard score is 625. Beats the emerge / toy card I closed a year ago.
Actual credit line $7,000. ($1,500 initial transfer plus a $5,500). Included balance transfer checks. Terms 0% for 6 months, then jumping to 19.9%. Will use it for 6 month for transfers, and then carry a very small balance waiting for possible enhancements. Prime balance, sub prime rates. What did we expect its Providian.
Re: Re: Providian changing? Congrats on the line Sub prime rate sounds like Providian. The upside is the 0% and help with utilization
Re: Re: Providian changing? Congrats.....Use the 0% to your advantage. After 6 months, call and ask for a rate reduction. If they refuse, let them eat $0 for awhile, or if you can, close it and see if they'll blink
You gotta love these bastards. They jacked my elderly mothers's rate to 29.9% and she was never once late with a payment. The worst part is that I had her call them and request they reduce the APR - the bitch said "sorry we cant" Sal
I know that Providian has a bad rep but they gave me a card when my credit was in the gutter riddled with numerous things. I never had any problems with them at all. Making payments and getting my questions answered. Cap 1 is a different story!
