I just wanted to say that I have a "get around" solution to the crap they call themselves pulling;you can go to Checkfree & receive/pay their statements for FREE. I have used them for almost a year now for Sears/Associates Mastercard Gold/JCPenney/Exxon/Shell/Southwestern Bell...all without a cost to me !!!! So, it appears that PROVIDIAN was recently added(checked for new merchants about 2 wks ago & it was not there). Just FYI.....www.checkfree.com Sister Girl
Hi Sistergirl - I was unaware of these folks. Have you used them successfully? thx for the info - Dogman
I pay my light bill there, and the Associates gas cards there, but when I tried to set up the Associates Visa there, Associates rejected it. I guess they think I'll screw up one of these days LOL. I just always pay it the day I get it, no problem. Maybe I will try again.
Just signed up for an account with them last week when I inquired about online payments through BP/Amoco. Thought BP had their own online payment thing like Cap 1 does. Instead you get redirected to the Checkfree site. I was happy to see the a lot of the companies I have cards with that take payments through that site. I have only set up BP so far. I probably missed it in their terms, but how long does it take for payments to post to your credit card accounts?
Five business days. However, you can schedule the payment way ahead of time, it will go through on the date you schedule. Don't schedule it late, though, cause they really do take 5 days. Been there, LOL.
Oh, you schedule it by the date you want the payment received. It will come out of your account 5 business days before that. Exclude holidays, also.
I do not understand why Providian would charge for online payments. They offer CheckFree service on the GetSmart portal for 6.95 a month for fifteen payments. That is a fairly good deal if you do not care for your present Eft. Also, when I pay my GetSmart online the payment is ACHed right out of my checking account, no paper is ever used. H
Hey.,..thanks for the heads up. I currently use Checkfree to pay Chevron, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and my student loan. I don't recall seeing Providian on their list but like you saild.....they must of just been recently added. Well.....that solves that problem!
Hey guys.... Thanks for everyone's input. Breeze,I cannot RECEIVE my Associates invoice online, but I can pay them for FREE thru this svc. They rejected online billing when I requested it,but for some "strange" reason I can "pay them"(use it every month....my Visa closes on 22nd & call 800 # to get amount due...then record it on invoice when received). BTW, they remove the funds on the date PAID(you've scheduled for merchant to receive funds). I really think that they use the electronic check method. Caio, Sister Girl P.S.---Dogman,I'm so HAPPY that you remained here.
I have NEVER has a problem with Checkfree & I have used them quite successfully. When you go to make a payment, the check image either will automatically put the date you can expect to receive the payment,or you may manually adjust it(exclude holidays/weekends). If you receive invoices thru them,it will pre-fill the due date(but again, manual adjustment optional). I refuse to pay my bank for something I can get for free(several institutions use these people for payment processing & I believe it will get more & MORE merchants in there network). Sister Girl
Please post the name of the service that you signed up for on checkfree. I went to the corp. site, but am a little confused about the service you all are using? Thanks!
Try this and see what happens. The Ebills system is not available from the checkfree site that I know of. https://www.thevalidnetwork.com/wbp32/wps?sp=WEBBL&rq=home
O.k. I just registered both my Providian cards over at Checkfree. My visa (which is registered on Providian's site) I signed up for e-bill. My MC didn't qualify for e-bill since it's not registered on Providian's site so I'll continue to receive that bill through regular mail. I'm happy now.
