Has anyone heard about the class action suit that Providian settled recently, over the fees they charged for credit protection and the fees assessed for limit increases. I know some of the sub-primes charge a fee for limit increases and does not indicated whether this a finance charge. Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue? Cyprigirl
cyprigirl, I got something in the mail about this a few days ago. I thought this was settled sometime last year; didn't know there was another one. I don't really have a problem, since I only had credit protection for 2 months, and they refunded both of the charges when I called, and my account's been closed for over a year. I'll just wait and see what happens.
Here is a link describing this issue: http://www.creditcardclaims.com/ Looks like it deals w/folks that either purchased a credit line increase, or one of their product/services such as credit protection, health advantage, etc.
