Providian has seen strong improvements in customer retention, while customer complaints have declined during an 18-month period ending November 30, 2000, as a result of a major initiative to improve customer satisfaction launched in mid-1999. During the same period, the Company's customer base has grown by nearly 50% to more than 15 million card holders. On December 28, 2000 they announced an agreement to resolve a series of consumer class action lawsuits that had been consolidated in the California Superior Court in San Francisco and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Seeing how hard they have worked to fix the problem that card holders have complained about, gives me faith that they will not disregard future customer billing problems.

I'm not impressed from Providian's customer service. Some reps talk to you as if someone is pointing a gun to their head.

Which is probably true, figuratively speaking :))

Yeah, that's all fine and good but I will NEVER, EVER get another card from these slimy crooks. The settlement lets them off very cheaply given the money it cost many people, along with the grief and aggravation, and damaged credit histories resulting in people have to pay higher interest rates on mortgages and other loans.

The same people are running the show their from their cushy offices in SF and NH when they belong in a small 5x7 cell with a concrete floor and a straw mat.
