Providian Expanding into Wisconsin

    Even though Providian currently does not accept online applications for its Smart VISA card from Wisconsin residents, it is sending out pre-approved invitations for the card to Badger State residents. I got the following offer:
    Providian Smart VISA
    Credit Line from $250-$3,000
    No Annual Fee
    APR of 0% to May 2000 statement
    APR of 23.99% after May, 2000

    I assume the you mean May 2002.

    Providian approved me for a $1,000 credit line on their Smart VISA card. I will only use the card when the balance can be paid in full, otherwise it will remain in the sock drawer.
