Ok- So I wrote to Providian three weeks ago on Planetfeedback regarding a credit line increase. I got two emails saying thanks for my letter and someone would contact me ASAP. I also received a letter in the mail stating the same. Well, time went by and I finally got a letter in the mail saying that they could NOT increase my CL as I had had late payments eith OTHER creditors (this is not true, I have made NO late payments since my BK 3.5 yrs ago, I learned my lesson) but they would CREDIT my waccount ith 12 months worth of interest. Sure enough, three days ago, my online account showed twelve credits, totaling 157.13, for a years interest. Well, today I get a letter in the mail from Providian. For the low, low fee of 49.00 (LOL), they will give me a 2000.00 Credit increase. HUH? Well, I will send it in, but I will also call and ask for the 49.00 to be credited back as I know others have had success with that request. For those who are interested..... Providian account opened less than 3 mos after BK 7, they sent me a letter. Initial CL was $1000.00. I don't remember the fee or interest. 1st CL increase came about 6-8 months later for 700.00 increase. Usual deal, the 49.00 offer in the mail. I called in after this offer and had my interest rate reduced to 13.99. 2nd CL came about another 6-8 months later for GOLD card, 1000.00 increase (total 2700.00), 49.00 fee. This is the 3rd offer, it has been about three years with my card, 2000.00 increase (total will now be 4700.00) for 49.00. FYI, I have NEVER had a late payment with them, and I try to run it up and pay it off as much as possible. Also, I just totally paid it off about 2 weeks ago, don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. Hope this helps! Shawn
