What I found out yesterday after talking to a customer service rep about when I should be expecting mf first increase on my Mastercard is that they don't review your account until after the 4th billing cycle. I was expecting my increase this month but it won't be until next month. Have anybody ever receive a increase from your Providian Mastercard for the first time and how much did your receive?

    Ty,
I just received my first increase last month, and it was $200 automatically, then I received an offer to increase it by $1000 for a fee of $49.

    To greyfox,

How long did it take for you to get your first increase? Are you going to accept that offer?

Ty, it took four months, and I did take the increase, as I am trying to keep my balance ratio under 30%. In my experience with the VISA at Providian, after I paid for that first increase, free increases came regularly...I went from a limit of $500 to $3300 in 6 months, with an excellent payment record.

    Oooohhh, I'm jealous

I just received a $1500 credit increase.(

Maybe if I pay it off, they'll give me another one in April. Already charged up $500.) Bills though, nothing exciting.

In what time period did you receive the $1500? On the VISA, I paid for the first $1000 increase, and didn't get another increase until I called retention and then they gave me $1500 after the automatic $200. I don't know if they might have given me anything if I hadn't called.

    Ty,
Opened acct. in 7/99..$1000 limit, 12/99...$2200 limit....05/00....$4200 limit...10/00...$5700 limit....02/01..$8000 limit. Just pay on time and stay within your limit....However, be careful, for every line increase the min. payment goes up...make sure your budget allows. Good luck.

    Sean,
I'm curious, when you got your first increase, what was your balance?

I've had my MC since Sep and I haven't had one increase. Now granted, in Dec, by fluke, I paid late, but that's it.

    Shantel,

Sorry about the late reply......first increase balance was $475.00...limit was $1,000.00 at that time.

Thanks Sean....I've been close to the limit for a while, so I'm assuming that's why I haven't gotten an increase yet. Oh well, don't need it right now. I'll just pay it down.
