Anyone else get one of these? I just got it in the mail today. "Congratulations on being a great customer with providian. We'd like to offer you a second credit card account -- a new platinum card with a $1000 credit line. This Visa Platinum card is designed to reward exceptional customers like you!" blah blah blah, it says it is guaranteed as long as I only have one other Providian card. The terms really suck, but I can probably PFB them, and also I was thinking of using this to combine the other card, if this is possible. I asked for a credit increase a few weeks ago, they gave me lower APR.. and now they just offer a new card instead? Crazy. What do you guys think?
Sounds like the replacement for their MC. In the past if you had a regular Providian account, Providian would entice you with a MC (generally no grace, high APR, annual fee and a 1k line). Best regards, Mirage
Providian offered me a pre-approved Smart Visa card with no annual fee, grace period, 23.9% APR, 0% APR till the May statement. I accepted and they gave me a $1000 credit line and got a transparent red smart card. Tim Exp= 645 TU= 697 Eq= ??? BK from 10/97
