I had a Providian credit card. The account was turned
over to a collection agency and they offered me a
settlement and I agreed to the settlement and have
paid as agreed according to the settlement. After a
month had gone by after the final payment of the
settlement agreement, the CA called me and said the
Providian didn't accept the settlement offer and they
wanted me to pay half of the remaining balance. I
called Providian and they said one they turn an
account over the collection agency they no longer
handle it. I spoke with the first person on 3/11.
They sent a request to try to find out what exactly is
going on. I called back on 3/21 and spoke with
someone else and they said they still hadn't heard
anything yet and to call back in 7 working days.
Well, I let a month go by and I called last night and
spoke with someone else and they said they still had
not heard back from the CA. She said she was going to
send another request, but she also said that the
account was turned back over to them as of 4/8.

So my question is, what should I do now? I haven't
received any documentation that Providian has the
account and I haven't received anything from the CA
stating the status of the account.

Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

BTW what the heck is "DH"? I see you guys mention it but I'm lost.

This is why you never pay a CA.
    Send them the V.Letter.
Read the 3 intro threads it's in there.

Sorry I cannot help you with your problem ... that question is better answered by someone else.

But "DH" = Dear Husband, "DW" = Dear Wife

Is the settlement in writing? If so, what does it say?
