ok guys i posted about a week ago regarding a charged off account from providian back in 2000. This account was sold to a few different ca's in the past few years. So when i made my initial call to providians fraud department i was told that they cannot start a fraud investigation until i filed a police report on this account. So i filed a police report and called the woman back and asked her where we go from here . So she told me that she knows for a fact that i am lying about this account and i am a horrible person. That offended me but i wasnt in an arguing mood. Than she says since i was a minor when the alleged account was opened that makes any contractural aggreement with providian null and void and legally they have to and are going to buy the account back from the ca. Then they will mail me a letter stating a complete release from any debt with there company. The woman needed me to fax her some things over so i did. Now heres the kicker. When i called the csr from prov. today just to see if she recieved my faxes yesturday she said she didnt recognise my name and can she please have my ssn. so i gave it to her and she puts me on hold . comes back and says "what do you want to know?" I said to her i just wanted to confirm her reciept of my faxes. She said she got them . Than i asked her what the next step is going to be here. She say's " didnt i tell you we are going to buy the account back . And we will send u a release letter". I said yea so she said well thats all u n eed to know. Than she hangs up on me. So from where i stand from what the csr told me the account has been bought back from zenith and prov. will send me a letter stating all releases from this debt. All well and good till about an hour ago i get a message on my cell from zenith. So i call them back and to make a long story short they said that there is no way they will selll the account back to providian. You are a fuc***ng loser and one way or another we WILL COLLECT 1400 DOLLARS FROM YOU. This is where i'm really confused. The moron from providian told me they bought the accnt back because legally they have to. Zenith tells me they will never sell the accnt back. Whats going on here??? Who is telling the truth??? Why are these people so insulting and rude. what should i do next?....srry the post is so long guys i had to vent a little bit. This is killing me. Im losing sleep over this crap.
I would think it would be a really good idea to start creating a paper trail. Call back Providian and DEMAND that they put it in writing, if not, you will seek the legal system to help you. Then when you have it in writing you can just send copies to whomever. Always get it in writing, their word means nothing, Vixie
thnx 4 the reply....well as far as getting it in writing the csr from providian told me the release letter will be mailed out within 1 week. So i guess if she isnt lying i will have to mail that to zenith if they try to keep on collecting.
Joey - Welcome to adulthood. One of the benefits of adulthood is the right to tell abusive people to go fuc* themselves. I suggest you start saying that to Zenith whenever they call. Since you were a minor when the debt was incurred there is no way it is enforceable against you. If Zenith wants to not sell it back to Providian, then it's Zenith who's out the money, not you or Providian. The person at Zenith you spoke to is just being a typical bill collector. These people have no sense of perspective. Their dogs hate them, they have no sex life and the biggest thrill left in their sorry existences is opening a new box of cereal for breakfast. I bet when they masturbate their hand falls asleep. Don't lose any sleep over that waste of protoplasm, get on with your life and learn the three adult words: "Go Fuc* Yourself".

Figured i would update ya'll on whats going on with providian. Firstly i havent recieved any letters from zenith or phone calls in about 2 weeks. Secondly i called providian to touch base and see whats going on with this case. The rep told me that they recieved e-mail conformation that this account has been bought back from unifund .they c/a whom i assume bought this account and sold it to colorado cap/zenith.The rep told me that they have sent a fax to the 3 cra's to retract all reporting activity on this account as it was a fraudulent account. (however the TL still remains on all three.I'll give it some more time) Now this is what really gets me pissed.When i asked the rep in the fraud dept. at providian when i would be recieving my release letter she said "we mailed one out to you on the 5th of june" thats news to me as i have been diligently checking the mail box every day for this letter.The rep said we mailed out to 58 xxxxxxxx road...My address is 56 xxxxxxx road. The idiots mailed my release letter to the wrong house.I really dont see how that could happen given they have all my personal info. So i told the rep about the mailing error and she apologised and said she will mail another release letter out today. That was back on monday.Still havent recieved anything from them. Than i asked her if she could fax it to me and she took down my fax # ..Havent recieved any fax's either. The horrible customer service is really getting to me. I just want this matter behind me however providian seems to wanna make this a long gruling project. Ill give it till wed. next week to get here than i am gonna send some sort of letter to the ceo. or someone with a higher power than the scum i have been dealing with. I mean these people in the fraud dept are probably making atleast 30.000 a year and they dont seem to care about there job. I make 22.000 a year , and i am in customer service and whomever i deal with on a daily basis i always give my all to make sure i have fullfilled all of there concerns thoroughly. I just hate getting the run around.errrrrrrr...srry guys had to vent to someone ...Guess i just have to play the waiting game a little longer.,..
