My Providian mastercard account renewed this month. They had already agreed to waive the annual fee when I called them in February. Some of you may have seen my post last week that said I got a postcard in the mail from them telling me they forgot to charge me the $20 fee for my "additional card". I called them and told them I didn't have an additional card and they agreed it was a mistake and I wouldn't be charged. The carrier that came in the mail today for my renewal had two cards in it. Both with my name. When I called to activate the new card their automated activation system put me on hold for an operator. I figured they would try to sell me some useless service. Nope -- they just wanted my address and phone number. They still say they won't charge me for the "additional card" as well. All things considered I was happy to see they've stopped trying to pitch their fee-based services when you call to activate.
it is still hilarious you got 2 cards. still checking the pulse to see if Providian is dumping these cards on its database... Of course the customer, is still having to followup and keep track LOL! aarrfff - dogman
