I am trying to settle on a Providian debt which shows as "pruchased by another lender", "charged off as bad debt". My direct contact with Providian tells me the name of who it was sold to, but that they are reporting correctly and that settling the debt with Unifund will not change their reporting of the debt. Is there a way to get this Providian debt removed?
