Creditors routinely HARM consumers with erroneous reports to the credit bureaus since the proliferation of scores as UW focus. Account closed by consumer is not necessarily bad it discloses that it was not involunatrily closed by the creditor. If you have it in writing that they will not reveal the "secured" status then i would say sue them for damages in small claims court. Did you have a $5,000 savings account with them that secured this account ? Or was it a partial savings account in the start of the account and they raised your H/C limit without requiring additonal deposits ? The nswer to these questions could determine the accuracy of this report possibly trebling your damage claims.

When my account with Providian was secured, it was reported that way.
