I am not targeting Providian - there are just in the news 2X today! SR Chronicle this am - Providian Financial reported instead of an .81 per share dividend, Providian would pay out .19 pershare - their stock has dropped 60%!!!! Chronicle reports CEO Maita may be replaced. Losses due to weak management, customer lawsuits, SF Atty settlement - many customer delinquencies. Sorry Providian - if you had made me prime, I would still be a customer! pawrusing the next one - dogman
I definitely agree with you dog. If Providian had made me prime, I'd still be a customer. It's amazing, they state that their "higher end" market is not doing well, but if they would open their eyes, they'd see that they have prime customers right under their noses and they are losing them. Freaks!!

Wow, I never knew that cancelling my old Providan card would have this kind of effect!!! I cancelled the card on the 11th and got the cancellation confirmation letter today. Household bank is next on the list and that's it, no more bank cards for me for a while.

"Weak management" is putting it mildly. I worked at Providian in Pleasanton for a while, and met numerous overpaid jerks and freaks with jobs they didn't deserve and couldn't perform in a professional manner. Everything and everyone there was totally phony. I was actually a bit surprised, on the pleasant side, with my experience as a cardholder. It hasn't been great, but Providian looks a lot more normal from the outside than from the inside.

It took them 30 seconds to deny... I didn't bother to call to see if they would reconsider...after I got 2 inquires for one application with CITIBANK...
