I just got a letter in the mail today stating that based upon my usage and credit limit they will be lowering my CL from $3950 to $571. What the Heck? This is wone of my oldest Credit cards I have been with them since 1999. Never late... Always pay more than min.... ARGH!!!! I think I am going to just do a balance Transfer and close it out....... I have only been keeping them for the length of time the account has been opened. Do you all think that closing this one account will affect my score very much leencaci
WELL Heck with them. I just took my Pre-Qualified Fleet Platinum Visa letter and applied online........ WOW!!! I was approved for $10,000. So I say heck with that $571 limit. I balanced transfered what I owed to providian w/ a 0% BT till 9/2003. So now I am happy again. BTW Fleet pulls Experian and my score was 731 at the time (the inquiry is already showing...hahahaha) leencaci
Wow that is pretty scary. Do you know why they chose such an arbitrary number? Did it make you over the limit? I still have 1 card with them. I'm on pins and needles checking it everyday hoping they don't lower my measily 2000.00 limit. Congrats on Fleet, that is great!!!! I guess this was a blessing in disguise for you.
SCARE AWAY ALL THE GOOD CUSTOMERS!!! They will have to go out of business...a credit card company can NOT survive on only BAD CUSTOMERS...even if they do charge 29.99%...and get a few late and over-limit fees!!!

I had an account and tried to trade for a better account...they said to close my current one and apply for the one I want...(LIKE IT WAS A DONE DEAL)...was DENIED!!! PFB~~~got a better rate than I had and better than I wanted...and a 0.00% FOR 9 MONTHS~~~WAY MORE THAT I WANTED!!! On the DOWN side...I asked for a limit increase---->DENIED...but the next month...GOT ONE ANY-WAY!!!
