Providian has been calling my live-in BF daily for the past two weeks during his normal work hours. I have told them to call after 6:30 pm in order to catch him but they persist. Had all I could take one day and asked them to tell me how much he needs to pay to get the account current because maybe I could pay it over the phone. I told them that I was not his spouse, nor was my name on the account. They told me both his balance and how much was overdue. Is this legal? Thanks, Gabriella
Did you tape the conversation with their consent WHat state do you live in is it 2 party consent state. If you don't have that he can still use it to try and leverage them into settlement and deletion. Did he ever tell them to inform you about his alleged debts? Just some questions to thin about.
I did not tape the conversation but they did. They informed me that they were taping as soon as we engaged in conversation beyond that BF was not home to take their call. I live in Tennessee. He has not told them that they can share his info with me. That's exactly why I asked: want to use this as leaverage for a settlement.
