Several months ago I called them and asked to be upgraded to a gold card (if there is such a thing). They said I already had the platinum card, why would I want the gold? I said I didn't realize I had the platinum. I then asked them to send me info regarding the extra benefits of the platinum card (such as insurance coverage, road service, whatever ...). They sent me the benefits explanations for the gold visa. I think these are standard. I then thought they were just saying any old thing so that when they asked at the end of the conversation "have I answered all your questions ..." I would say yes. Here it is several months later and I got an "invitation" to upgrade to the gold card!!?? Oh yes, and a 1000 credit increase for $99. They were nice to get me started with my first visa card, and credit limits have been great, but they certainly do have a good supply of BS!
They have a MIXED-UP order... "REAL" cards go...SILVER~CLASSIC. GOLD, PLATINUM, TITANIUM~~~SUPPOSEDLY BETTER THAN PLATINUM...
call retention and tell them you're thinking of closing. they'll give you the upgrade and loc increase w/out the 99.
