Calling customer service the past 2 months to find out why the cash advance feature on my card doesn't work.

Never been late or past due the past 5 years.

Maria told me today there was a glitch on my account only and not on any other card holders.

Last year I sent a complaint etter to the state attorney general because this same company put 2 inquiries on my credit report, claiming there was fraud on my account, that someone had unauthorized charges.

Something called a Joseph Urbina in response to the letter twisted things around on the phone with me to make it sound like I shared the blame because I was in the rebuilder category.

Hope this information helps others. Should I fight for the cash advance features on my card by filing another complaint with the state attorney general?

Any better ideas appreciated and how to handle this.

If there is the possibility of fraudulent charges against your card, you should have a new card with a new number issued. I'm surprised your bank didn't just do this already.

Let me clear something up. I called last year when I tried to use my card for a cash advance. Providian put a fraud alert on my account and blocked the card.

When I called them about the block the fraud dept. said someone else had used the card and I would see the charge on my next statement but shouldn't worry because I would not be responsible. They issued me new numbers.

The next statement showed nothing. When I called Providian about it they said nothing on my account was noted about fraud charges.

My conclusion is Providian cooked up the fraudulent charge as a smokescreen to pull my credit.

That's when I contacted the state attorney general.

Now, this past month, I tried to take cash on my card and it would not work. Customer service said there was no blocks on my account, but a system glitch was in place, from somewhere. It is not a software problem, I was told.

So my conclusion is and was this is a possible revenge move by Providian for the complaint I filed earlier with the state attorney general.

If not a Providian payback, then I would like to know what really is going on. And how I can get my card to live up the card member agreement concerning the cash advance feature, which is supposed to be $200 a day at the ATM.
