I'm not clear what to do now!

My problem is a PAID account with Providian. This account is showing up on two of my credit reports as Paid Charge off - with a bunch of 30 day, 60 day, 90 day late marks.... It's a mess!

I disputed the tradeline with the CRAs, the only one that deleted was Equifax.

SO... my next step was to write Providian. I did the validation 1, validation 2, estoppel letter, finally I sent the intent to sue letter...

Today my phone rang from Providian, this extremely nice lady?!?!?! told me she wants to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible, bla.bla.bla. She then gave me her direct number, and fax...

Then she called back, and asked me what is it that I really want to happen... I said at this point the only thing that I will accept is tradeline deletions. She paused, then asked for me to fax her my current credit reports... And a letter of everything I want Providian to do for me...

I'm not sure what to do now... Please help!!!!

    Should I send them anything?
Should I accept anymore phone calls?

    HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Was her name Gloria Santini? If so, be careful - she is good at gaining your confidence and then using anything you provide against you.

    As always, YMMV.

Well, tey have a bunch of people trained to deal with these type of letters. Shalon Bell is another person in that department. Be VERY careful about what you give them. And I would tell them I'm not giving them anything and it should be in their records. They'll give you some BS about, well it would make my job easier and it will go faster for you but that's just smoke and mirrors........they don't have the info and you will most likely have to MAKE THEM DO THEIR JOB.

As far as what should you do??? Tough question depending on what you actually hope to achieve. If all it is that you want is deletion, I'd tell them you won't settle for anything less than that and give a deadline or you'll be seeing me at the courthouse.......assuming you have them on any violations. If not......well I would say just negotiate the best you can at this point. Whatever the case, anyone calling you from Providian is not there to do favors for anyone.

Thank you - that was very helpful... It was kinda what I was thinking.... (Why should I provide them with anything... They already got a thousand plus dollars from me in over the limit fees, late fees, annual fees, just because were Providian fees, fees, fees... And they have not ever, NEVER EVER, looked out for me before, so why now...
