I figured I should ask for someone who seems to know his stuff this time, as opposed to posting it in general. I never seem to get this question answered So I really hope you can help me on these 2 issues. 1. I sent a nutcase letter for a paid collection (120 days late). The return recept says it was received on 7/17, but the person who signed for it did not "print" his/her name...so I have no idea who signed for it. It is now 9/04, and I haven't heard a word from them. Can you please advise me on what I might be able to do here...noting that I don't know who signed for it? 2. I sent a goodwill letter to wells fargo over a student loan (faxed it to their general fax number). The loan went 90 days past due while I was out of work, but I later got forebearance for those 90 days. I begged them to give me another chance. When I got my reply back a little over a month later, it said something about "thank you for inquiring about your account status, we have verified the information to be accurate with the CRAs.. etc etc". In other words, they treated it as if I was writing to challenge the CRA report's accuracy or verify the info... when it was supposed to be a goodwill letter, and not a challenge. Please help me this time. I'm desperate. Thanks
1. You could call to see if they noted something on the account about the letter. 2. If they made the forebearance retroactive...ughh. What jerks.
our retroactive forbearance has gotten us nowhere fast also. at least I have a letter showing them as in forbearance. Hoping that helps in the long run!
1. I checked my credit report. It's still there, and nothing's been noted on it. Then again, I asked for a validation.. so I was expecting them to give me the info I requested. 2. As for wells fargo, are you saying there's nothing to be done?
No, I'm just saying that SL's suck! I disputed 2 on my husbands reports, we have a retroactive forbearance, but the SL companies won't budge! I hate them! What's the point of the retroactive forbearance, if it won't help clear up the reports?!
As for the goodwill letter, you should do a lot more research in the FAQ regarding goodwills. I wrote a post about goodwills that I think would be useful to you. It's in the FAQ. The problem with your Wells Fargo goodwill is that you just sent it to a general fax line. You need to send the fax to someone who will be able to HELP you. AKA a middle manager, supervisor, etc. You need to get a name of someone. My post in the FAQ states way of finding this out. Another way to go about it is to write the person back who sent you that letter. Tell them that you were not requesting verification of the account, but was rather asking for reconsideration. If I were you, I would try to find someone who could help me.
That's the funny thing... the letter was not signed by an individual. It was signed as the customer service dept. or something (I don't have the letter in front of me right now, sorry). So it's been pretty hard for me to find a specific individual to write to. Well, I'll take a look at the FAQ you're talking about. Thanks!
Re: PsychDoc (or someone) please he Hi, rackt3, ditto to what everybody else advised. Also, I'd consider going forward with the second letter in the nutcase series. Here's a link to the full sequence: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=160448#post160448 Doc
