Sherman Acqusition purchased our debt and now a collection agency is sending us letters. I sent out the first letter and have not heard from them. What next? If they validate it with proof of our signatures, then do we have to pay?
Actually for a full validation they need. Original App or contract with your signature. Complete accouting of the acct. ie statements. Agreement for every purchase or transfer etc of the debt from the original creditor to the current CA, to establish the right to collect the debt. Also check wiith the state agencies governing that CA to make sure the CAs licenses and bonds if required are up to date. If all that is current and provided and the debt is within the SOL then yup. Send a pay for removal.
